Iatrogen, LLC's RxWise Website Named Fully Compliant with HONCode of Conduct for Ethical and Reliable Medical and Health Information

The Health on the Net (HON) Foundation, a Geneva, Switzerland-based non-profit organization, has elaborated the Code of Conduct to help standardize the reliability of medical and health information available on the worldwide web. The HONcode defines a set of rules to hold website developers to establish basic ethical standards in the presentation of information, and helps ensure readers know the source and purpose of online data.

RxWise is Iatrogen's latest product, and it helps consumers avoid adverse drug reactions (ADRs). It's a personalized ADR risk-assessment tool contained on a USB Flash Drive, or accessible through the Internet. RxWise evaluates potential risks for an ADR by analyzing self-reported personal medical history in the context of a medicine's known risk profile. Using sophisticated risk-assessment software, RxWise provides important information about which medications may cause an adverse reaction. It covers a broad range of the most commonly used prescription, herbal and over-the-counter drugs.

By using a new multifunctional browser plug-in from HON, web surfers can highlight and select text from a web page and search for HON-certified sites about that subject, helping them find reliable information on the full range of health subjects.
